Where Are Your Parts? Safe, Sound, and Available

This month, GIW Industries Inc. employees celebrated another step in the company’s growth: the grand opening of the newly expanded Grovetown distribution center.

The expanded and enhanced facility is part of a major investment by GIW’s parent company, KSB Group in Germany. KSB has earmarked $70 million over the entire five-year growth project, which includes the expanded distribution center and GIW’s recently completed large-casting foundry.

The Grovetown distribution center now offers 45,000 square feet, with room for GIW’s largest parts and the equipment needed to manage inventory safely and efficiently. The building will be operational in May 2016.

Additionally, when the market begins to pick up again, there are already plans for expanding the distribution center by another 35,000 square feet. Planning for growth helps ensure long-term success in any business, but it is especially important in an industry like mining that has long-term expansion potential due to global population growth dynamics.

Here are some highlights from the grand opening celebration!
